The Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority provides a dual stream recycling program to participating municipalities, schools/universities, and civic groups of Marquette County.
The Marquette County Landfill is a DUAL STREAM RECYCLING FACILITY. We accept, process, and market recyclable materials at our facility. Recyclable materials are accepted in two streams: “FIBER” and “RIGID”. The fiber stream consists of paper products to include: cardboard, paperboard, magazines, newspaper, books, office paper, junk mail, etc. The rigid stream consists of materials to include: plastics and metal (steel/aluminum).
Recyclable materials are delivered to our facility through the municipality residential curbside service and municipality drop off locations. In addition, separated (FIBER and RIGID) materials may be delivered to the landfill by residents and/or businesses during regular business hours Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. A recycling trailer service is also offered to our constituent municipalities and local school districts who choose to participate. The recycling trailer service is not available to commercial businesses. Commercial businesses are welcome to deliver separated recyclable materials to the Marquette County Landfill.
Recyclable materials are accepted in two streams in order to preserve the QUALITY OF THE MATERIAL. By producing clean dual stream recyclables, the Marquette County Landfill is able to market the material for higher and better uses. Recyclable product quality is critical to the success of any recycling program.
