Refrigerant
The Marquette County Landfill offers the service of refrigerant removal for the following appliances:
- Air Conditioners
- Dehumidifiers
- Drinking Fountains
- Freezers – Must be empty and contain no food
- Refrigerators – Must be empty and contain no food
- Any other refrigerant containing unit
There is a $40 charge per unit for the removal of refrigerant.
If any refrigerant devices contain food or other garbage, removal is required or a clean up charge of $25 per 15 minutes will be assessed, plus the $40 refrigerant removal fee.
If any of these items are found in loads removal of the item is required or a mixed load fee of $10 per ton be will assessed, plus the $40 refrigerant removal fee.
The landfill site does not accept any payments therefore, residents must obtain a landfill permit from the city or township the waste is coming from before disposing of any waste at the landfill site.
