Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) refers to substances that, when used, stored, handled, or disposed of improperly, pose a risk to people or the environment. These materials are any leftover household products that may contain reactive, corrosive, ignitable, or toxic ingredients. Many household products fit this category. This includes everything from pesticides to cleaners to batteries and even some light bulbs. See Acceptable Materials for a complete list.
